Finally the long wait for the Indians using Samsung Galaxy S is over. After Launching the Android 2.2 (Froyo) update in UK on 5th November It was mentioned that it would be delayed in India for quiet a while. Today finally the official update for Indian users is launched. Lets see what’s new in the update and how to install in on the device.
Samsung had earlier released the Android 2.2 update for the handset in October this year but rolled it back due to lack of performance and many bugs issues.Well now its bug free and the the best thing in the update is that the issue with the GPS is finally resolved with additional support of voice-controlled GPS through Google Maps. The next best thing included in the update is JIT (Just in Time) Compiler which provide faster performance. Below mentioned are official updates reported by the Samsung India.

How To install Android 2.2 Froyo on Galaxy S
- Download and Install Samsung Kies.
- Update your Kies program
- Connect your Galaxy S i9000
- Once the phone is connected , click on the phone with an arrow icon near the bottom right of Samsung Kies.
- Kies,will guide you through the installation and upgrade process
