Nokia 5220 Xpress Music: Personal Experience

First impression of any phone is its design, color, shape, etc. The looks of Nokia 5220 are awesome and you cannot call it rectangular shaped. The screen color depth(256K) is quite good than othan others in this range with a size of 240×320. About Interference, It’s not different and easy to operate.

As an Xpress Music Edition, it has dedicated music keys on sides along with volume control. Like a Music player, rythmics flash lights according to color variants flashes on left side edge of phone. Impressive feature is that it has stereo speaker Sound and headsets sounds heavenly. It is compatible with most-used multimedia formats like Mp3, AAC, WAV,MP4, 3GP and others. Stereo FM radio with RDS and 3.5mm ausio output jack is given to connect it to home-theatres.

About Camera, It takes Still images brilliantly with resolution 1600×1200 at max. with its 2 MegaPixel Camera. Video Camera (not to say, but its of no use) Maximum resolution is 176×144(QCIF) which does not even run properly on Mobile itself. But, if you are planning to buy a Music Phone- then, it’s a good choice available at a price of Rs.7700+ with 1GB MicroSD which is extrendable upto 4GB.

- Impressive features

  1. Nokia Maps 2.0 enabled which is not generally seen in S40 devices.
  2. EDGE (Class 32) really enhances your browsing speed in combination with opera mini(in-built)
  3. Java MIDP 2.1 supports almost every JAR application and runs smoothly.
  4. Bluetooth functionality v2.0 with A2DP increases transfer rate.

- What irritates

  1. Not so stable, hangs on often playing Music or browsing files.
  2. Updates Library on every restart from 0 to 100%
  3. Battery backup reduces with GPRS browsing fastly.
